Currently people resort to posting bug reports on social media because they are more likely to get acknowledgement from members of the RS team, thus, they know that their bug that they took the time to report is at the very least being looked at.

This is currently not a case for using the ingame bug report system, this means that it incentivises using social media to report bugs which most of the time gives Jagex less information to be able to solve the bug. The only time you know that a bug report has been looked at is if it is fixed, or if you reach out on social media and a JMod talks to you about it.

This would also double down as a great way of community interaction, and any questions that the JMod might have can be asked directly to the person reporting the bug. There is also a nice warm feeling that you get knowing that a bug you reported is fixed, at least in part, because you reported it.

We actually used to do this!

Myself, /u/JagexIago and others actually inboxed players who'd sent in bug reports which turned out to be actual bugs.

I used to reply to people who sent me bugs on here a ton also which I imagine made people use reddit more to report bugs

I'd love if a public issue tracker was available (company plug coming in here) as since joining Unity I've found out about our public issue tracker where people can keep up to date on issues we update.

More acknowledgement is good!
