just linked my maxed 99 account to the new Jagex account management system for the golden cape shard, and now it's saying it cannot find my account or email... basically saying my account doesn't exist anymore.... what do i do??????????

To be clear, email address and password!

Old credentials are removed when you upgrade and you cannot login with your 'Jagex Account name'. This is only used at this time so you can identify legitimate communications from us.

No plans to remove, we're listening to feedback on this and some sort of "archive" feature was discussed for RuneScape characters but nothing concrete or "coming soon" AFAIK.

As a player, I don't see why you need the ability to remove an account. Archiving an account would stop it from being in your character list and you would no longer see it impacting your account or "bothering" you.

If you want to remove an account to share it or sell it, sharing accounts and selling accounts remains against the rules.

I would argue the marketing and information provided implies this.

Included here and off the top of my head the text during the upgrade process mentions it too.

I don't think we have ideas to point this out more, though if you give feedback via the launcher it will be taken on board. Jagex accounts will be mandatory in the future, upgrading should be something you are happy to do especially with how much feedback we've been getting for years about account security!

Just caught me by surprise not being able to remove the accounts, just hoping to at least be able to archive them one day down the road haha!

Sorry I'm not really clear based on what you've said - how do you both know that your account is not linked to the Jagex account and that you cannot login to your RuneScape account anymore?

If you go to account.jagex.com and login with your jagex email address & recently created password, what do you see?

If you do see the RuneScape character you expect linked, make sure to log out of all accounts in the jagex launcher and then log in with that same new email address and password.

When you create a Jagex account you enter an email address and a Jagex account password.

So it sounds like just a misunderstanding of what that button is on your side, when you create an account with an email address that's what it is and it can be any email provider.

When you click the Google button, that's creating what we call a "Google social network account". This uses some behind the scenes magic with your Google account, rather than your Gmail address.

An easy way to understand might be the fact we also have Facebook logins available, while we don't have a login button for Outlook emails.

Also worth saying and being clear, you haven't created a jagex account if you're logging in with Google. You may have linked a Google account to an existing RuneScape character which itself is linked to a Jagex account, but to get the full jagex account benefits you should log in with an email address and MFA.

Is that clearer?
