I'm tagging this as a bug because I'm fairly certain that it is what caused these problems for me.

I recently have decide to play rs3 again lately and figured posting this experience I've had may help some others if you're experiencing these strange happenings.

The other day I noticed that my UI had been changed, it looked reset to what I assume is default. I did not have any custom presets (which may actually be that I never define them) so I needed to reset my UI to how I like it.

I was fighting bosses and when trying to eat a rocktail at full health to overheal, the game would give me a message telling me that eating at full health dies not help you.

The pathing system activated itself upon logging in and I completed a task by praying at an altar, which I've definitely done in the past.

At this point I was beginning to wonder what was going on with my account. It seemed like it was stuck in some kind of new account purgatory.

Then when I tried to claim my twitch prime loot, it gave me an in game message that I would need to finish the game intro first.

For anyone who is having these issues, I resolved it by setting the burthorpe and lumbridge tasks to complete, and claiming the baby troll in burthorpe.

Not sure why this has happened, but that worked for me so maybe it will work for you to!

Thank you for spreading the word! To elaborate, here's a more detailed explanation I put together:

Various mainland restrictions are applied to new players to more gently onboard them to the complexities of combat, the interface, and embedded sub-systems. These restrictions are eased as they progress through Turael's paths in Burthorpe.

On Monday, we removed a 100 total level check condition from the criteria that determined whether an account is classified as a new player, due to reports from players who unintentionally completed the paths by levelling up and weren't able to continue with them.

Unfortunately that means some players who were relying on that check to not have to complete the new player paths are now in a tutorial state.

If you're still experiencing this issue, to save you having to complete the new player paths in Burthorpe, you can toggle this option. It'll treat Turael's paths as complete, disable contextual guidance, remove onboarding constraints, and clear your path if necessary:

Open your Settings parent menu

• Desktop: press Esc or the cog on your ribbon, and then the Settings button

• Mobile: press the Home button in the top left, and then the Settings button

Then on the Settings parent menu:

• Gameplay tab

• Interfaces -> Information Windows -> untick "Guidance system hints"

We're also working on narrowing/removing specific new player restrictions, to minimise their impact. We'll hotfix where possible.
