What is Space Haven?

Space Haven is a spaceship colony sim which tasks the player to build spaceships tile by tile, create optimal gas conditions, manage the needs and moods of their crew, encounter other space-faring groups, and explore the universe in search of a new Earth.

Build your ship and gather your crew to carry you between the stars. Choose whether you’ll be heroes or villains as you struggle to survive, or watch your ship become a tomb for other, more successful crews to loot. Whatever happens, it is up to you to chart your course.

How can I help you with the game?

You can help us by spreading the word! Tell your friend about this Discord and send them an invite. Post on relevant subreddits like r/gaming, r/games etc. Retweet one of our posts on twitter and share on Facebook. Your help means a lot to us!

What engine and language is the game being built with?

LibGDX/Java is the Engine/Language the game is being built with.

Will the game have Z-Levels?

Due to how the game has been designed, and the possible can of worms regarding technical problems, overall game play and user awareness; we opted to stick with a single plane to build on.

Is the game Multiplayer?

The game is being built for a single player experience. We have tossed around the ideas of limited MP capabilities like trade for example but even that is just floating up in the air. The safer bet is to assume the game will not feature MP of any kind.

Do you accept requests for content to be in the game?

We are open to suggestions, however please keep in mind that every little change, addition, or even tweaks take time to discuss among the team, time to implement, time to test, time to fix when something breaks, and so on. That time on one thing, takes time from the hundreds of other things that need to be in. So please suggest, but don’t be upset if we don’t put it in.

Will there be mod support?

We would like to create a tool to support modding eventually, and have things that are easy to fit in there supported first. Then we will see how the tool evolves with time. It's all about what's feasible taking into account the amount of work needed. We cannot promise it will be super extensive, we will have to see how it pans out.
