Having now played Alpha 10 for a while, I quite like the new system maps and "spheres of influence". But there's one thing that I find inferior to the old system...knowing where the hell I'm going.

In the old system, as long as you were progressing towards the center of the spiral, you knew generally where Eden was. Having now criss-crossed the galaxy numerous times, I have to say that I have no f'ing clue where to go. Visited systems aren't immediately visible if you're too many systems away, making me wonder whether I had already visited or whether it's a new system. There needs to be a better way to mark systems, let us jot down notes for each cluster, or generally just a better method of tracking where you've been. Even something as simple as a "% explored" for each system would be immensely helpful. Because I have no bloody clue where the hell Eden is. Hell I can't even remember which system I started in at this point.

FOLLOWUP: For the record: I finally found Eden in the middle of a Military Alliance system. So I guess the only criteria really is that it's likely to be on the other side of the map of wherever you started...

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm sure we will be able to implement something to make the starmap have more info, of where you've been and otherwise. =)
