So I've gotten to the point where I've managed to pick up a derelict and repair it. The thing is I probably left it way too late because I'm not finding energium anywhere, and I'm having trouble keeping my two ships powered.

Now, I understand if the scarcity of energium is meant to make you pace the game and not just pick the universe dry any chance you can get, but it becomes a bit of a problem where the game feels like it's forcing you to get to a stage by X amount of days, e.g. "you better have energy reactor and two ships by day 100 or your gonna run out of energy, we can't help you with that lol".

What I think would be a good way to counter this is make resources respawn at asteroids when you've farmed them, just at a very slow rate. That way, you cant immediately farm a system when you've farmed it dry, rather you'll just get trickles of resources, and there is more incentive to explore where there will be more abundant resources.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk that was originally a question but somehow turned into a suggestion.

There's an endless amount of galaxies to explore if you want, it doesn't stop at one. The trick is to keep jumping forward and seeking out critical resources at a pace, which minimizes the risk to run out completely.

Actually, if you have two ships you will be burning more energium. That's part of the challenge. =)
