Hi all. Hopefully not a similar post/discussion about what I am going to say has happened already. Although seems unlikely.
As many of you here, I want Stormgate to be a great success, and I have been thinking about what was what made previous RTS a big success.
I really think that the campaign is the main pilar in which the rest of the game futures rests.
Twenty years later and more, people keep making memes about Arthas and the purge. Everyone still remember Zeratul, Jim Raynor and Kerrigan. Artanis from SC1.
We can also go back to Command and Conquer with Kane and many other games.
Competitive game is fine and keeps interest in the game but, in my opinion, most of the people still remembers and plays those games because of the characters and campaign.
Of course it is also very important and the game must be supported by good game play and balanced and fun factions, the co-op mode, terrain editors, guilds, tournaments and all the features that players can use to enjoy the game.
I don’t know what is Frost Giant views on these and if they are aware/in agreement.
A great campaign and history, and iconic and charismatic characters is what I think makes the difference and makes people love a game.
What do you guys think?
Cheers all
