Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to getting this game as soon as it releases, but as a largely offline player I wonder if I'll be able to play offline versus bots (not counting the SP campaign) . Is it possible to play against AI and customize your experience (like BF2 instant action, for example)?
I'm new to this so I didn't see all gameplay-related videos, so I think it's better to ask you guys/gals about it.
External link →Just to properly set expectations, when you say “offline,” do you mean solo or entirely offline? A number of features require online play of some kind. So yes, you can play (entirely offline) against bots but you won’t earn rewards, so you’ll want to play with or against players to earn rewards, even just in co-op against AI.
Entirely offline, you can play the story, practise range, and vs AI Fleet Battles (though you'll only earn XP as a way to combat cheating).
I meant "solo", as in "BF2 Instant Action" kind of solo. I suppose the "fleet battles" you talk about are customizable to some extent?
The most important thing to me is being able to play everything this game offers solo and , in some cases , entirely offline (crappy internet connection is a huge problem). I'm okay with rewards being only available online.
Then other than multiplayer itself and dogfights, you're good!
