Note: I have already reported this to (Jay)Charlemagne on twitter and he said that they’ll look into it however I feel like it’s VERY hard to notice via images so i’m attaching videos here.
It’s specifically most noticeable when taking down Capital Ships
I played 8 hours solid on PS5 before update 3.0 so to me the difference was instantly noticeable. The Upgrades and additions to the lighting and some effects however are better than they were before though so It can be hard to spot what’s wrong unless you played Squadrons on PS5 a lot before the update (which given the state of the PS5 availability at launch probably isn’t many people considering its a somewhat niche interest PS4 game) ; Luckily, I did so I’ve got stacks or pre & post patch 3.0 footage and screens for comparison.
The now low quality backgrounds are most noticeable in Practise mode Sissubo but also Fostar Haven.
The low fire, smoke and explosion resolution is most noticeable on Captial Ships and Frigates but especially on Zavian Abyss given the new atmospheric detail. however going onto any map and mode and spectating highlights these issues best.
The PS5 update has also made some edges at a medium to large distance away look very jagged compared to before but this isn’t the worst change.
There’s also ghosting issues when customising your pilot. Character look as though details is literally crawling around their faces.
Yet the game looks fine on PC.
Are there any other Squadrons PS5 players here that have noticed this?

I’ve got lots of screenshots but even at 4k the lack of movement hides the “blockiness”
