[2020] Inputs stop working in single player

Just as the title says it happens randomly and I cant explain it. Its happened to me twice. The first time it happened when I launched the first A-Wing mission and then again after talking to Shen after that mission.

The game seems to continue running fine but I cannot do anything with either my Xbox controller or the mouse and keyboard. I have to hard close the game and restart it. It's really annoying if anyone has experienced this or has any ideas I'd be happy to hear them.
