There’s a ton of bad talk about this game. Undoubtedly, it’s very flawed and everybody is rightful in their criticisms. Trust me, I am free to play and struggle with the same things as everybody else. Just kind of wanted to offset that with some positivity today.

SWGOH probably saved my life. I began playing during the darkest lowest point in my life just before COVID. I was suicidal and secretly spent some time in the hospital after my Dad and best friend passed within months of each other. I went on a trip with friends when I got out and my Star Wars loving buddy was playing it and convinced me to get an account. In the beginning, I couldn’t even imagine getting any character reliced.

However, over the years, I have made so much progress and gotten so far without spending a dime. My original goal was to get General Skywalker and then Jedi Knight Luke. I have them both now, and I feel so good about it. Now, I am about to meet all of the requirements to get Jedi Master Luke. My first GL…. after like 3 years! LMAO

It takes so long and so much dedication to do things that it’s actually so rewarding. I have a note in my phone where I am always planning my next grind and next character. I have trouble sleeping due to PTSD, thinking about what I’m going to do next in the game always helps me sleep.

This game is quite sentimental to me. It feels like my own little work in progress. It also inspired me to start working out because if I can spend an hour on this game every day, why can’t I spend an hour in the gym working on the progress of my own physical body?

Thanks to everybody who makes this game go ‘round, especially all of you Whalers out there!!! I will always be a player.

Love you all, love AhnaldT101, and love Star Wars ♥️
