[2019] HK47 unique active after defeated, WAI?

When running Jedi against DR, I noticed that after HK is defeated there is still no bonus TM gain for GMY or during HY basic, is that working as intended?

My understanding of unique abilities is that, like Bariss, only active if the character is alive on the field.
