[2021] Lag after installing new update

Has anyone else been getting horrendous lag after installing the new update?

Since updating I've had lag in some screens like the character screen but in my GAC match this morning I got horrible lag in the carbonite chamber stage to such an extent that I timed out of my match and lost the round. Towards the end of the battle I was losing 30 seconds a time while the game stopped and then caught up. I then had to hard reboot my phone.

Using Pixel 2XL so not the newest phone but never had issues with lag before. I'm wondering if it's all the smoke effects on that particular stage causing issues?
