Hi there,

Could you please share the following info for us?

  • Type of machine you have
  • Graphics card
    • Driver version of the card
      • If you go to to your Device Manager > Display adapters > click properties on your graphics card, you should be able to find this info
  • What version of Windows you have

That would be a helpful start in troubleshooting this issue. You can also PM me this info if you feel more comfortable with that.

Thanks!

For anyone else who may be experiencing this same issues, can you please provide the above information? Thanks!

I'm not too tech savvy but I hope this is the correct information. Machine type is a ACPI 64-Bit based PC. As for the graphics card its a AMD Radeon graphics that's integrated with my AMD Ryzen 7 4700G processor, the driver version is "30.0.13014.8". I hope that makes sense but this issue was somewhat fixed by using compatibility mode to windows XP SP3 and I don't have this issue on any other game I play.

Hi again! The team is also asking for dxdiag files. Can you send all the info you wrote above plus the dxdiag file to [email protected]? The team will need to take a closer look at what's happening. You can find the steps to generate a dxdiag report here. Be sure to include your account name and title the email "Flickering graphics with 64-bit". Thank you!

HI all,

Appreciate the reports! Can you let us know if adjusting the texture quality to low helps at all?

Hi everyone,

Thank you for sending in the reports. The team wanted to follow up with another test scenario. For anyone impacted by this issue, can you set BOTH the launcher.exe and swtor.exe to the same combability mode you used previously and report back if that fixes your issue?

This would also be beneficial for players who see an empty server list as well.

We are requesting impacted players to set the same combability mode on both executables and see if 1) the server list populates and 2) if the flickering issues is resolved. Location may vary, but you can normally find these files here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\star wars - the old republic\launcher.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\star wars - the old republic\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe

  • Right click on launcher.exe and swtor.exe
  • Select Properties
  • Go to the Compatibility tab

Thanks!

Adding to this, the team is asking if setting the overall graphics preset to low, alongside setting the texture quality to low, fixes the issue. Let us know in this thread!

Hi all, little update regarding this specific issue. I made a post here because there's a few things happening at the same time and the flickering textures is related. Please read the linked thread.

Thanks!
