Big issue: I can't seem to get the Hyde and Zeek quests for 340 gear components, just the conversation where they tell me to wait for them to have new stuff. I have completed all previous quests on all my level 80 characters.

Others in the game have mentioned the same issue, no H&Z missions on characters that have completed all previous ones.

Team is investigating! Thanks for the report.

as ALWAYS happens.. my game is not working its hanging up on the first screen (the new one)..every single time their is an update i can't get back into the damn game

Can you please give more details on your experience/what you are seeing? Is the button grayed out? Is the patch showing it's downloading? Are you using the SWTOR launch or using Steam? Is it possible that your AV is blocking the game? It would be helpful to know these types of details. Thanks!

The new graphics settings look fine solo, but if you're in a group of more than 5 or so people, the game is unplayable. Our guild on Star Forge just tried to do a rampage/world boss run, and it was impossible. The game froze and stuttered non stop, and every single person's game crashed at least 4 times in 15 minutes. I don't think the new graphics settings can handle big groups-- I definitely think thats something yall need to look into ASAP

I forwarded this to the team to look into. Thanks for reporting this. All the details are very helpful! If we need more info, I'll send you a PM.

Hey so I'm currently doing the Port Nowhere mission on my lethality operative and I noticed that the Toxic Haze green cloud doesn't appear anymore. My op throw the thing on the ground and there's nothing that visually appear after that. Also lots of clippings in the cinematic when Rikan, his sister are talking with one poor lone mando that just get walked through like he is a ghost.

Update: I can't see any holocom conversation, as in if someone hold the com nothing appear above, and if I answer a call I see no one speaking though I do hear what they say.

Hey there! Can you run the repair tool and see if that fixes your issue?

@Melaras @Trebor-droffig

If you have not already, please send in your launch logs to [email protected]. They can usually be found on this path: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic Launcher

Please be sure to include your SWTOR account name.

@HanniShindeiruHi there, I sent you a PM yesterday with instructions to send your launcher logs to the support team so they can take a look at what's happening. Please follow those instructions, so the team can see if they are able to troubleshoot what the issue is. Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm talking to a few people on my team to see if there's any info I can share back with you all to determine what the issue is with the freezing screens/unable to log into the game. I am asking that further comments only come from players who are directly impacted by this specific issue so we can track the conversation. If conversation continues to derail, I will have to lock the thread and open it back up when I have an update for everyone who is experiencing this issue. Thanks for your understanding!

@JackieKo It's not been solved, memory leak is still going on. @TrixxieTriss is head on the nail with it. You legit have to restart the client to help the issue.

I'll forward to the team!

@CadeStive @TrixxieTriss

The team needs more info!

  • When do you see the memory climbing?  Is it at character select, or open world, PvP, Ops, etc...?
    • Do you see it all the time or just with certain areas and activities?
  • Anything that can help us reproduce your exact experience would be helpful.

Good morning,

We're still looking into the freezing screen issue. But we do need confirmation on one thing.

@Melaras @HanniShindeiru Can you confirm that SWTOR is on the allowlist for you anti-virus/firewall?

5 months ago - JackieKo - Direct link

Hi again,

Currently, we are tracking two issues:

  • Freezing loading screen
  • Memory leak in certain parts of the game.

The team is asking for more information which I will detail below. I am asking for responses from only players who are impacted by these issues and can provide the answers we need in order to troubleshoot further.

For players who are experience the freezing screen issue:

  • Does your application become unresponsive and you crash or does the loading screen just sit there forever?
  • Does using control + U twice close the loading screen and allow you to play the game?

For players who are experiencing a memory leak:

  • Does this happen for all your characters?
    • If only specific ones, which characters?
  • Does this happen on every server?
    • If only specific ones, which server(s)?

Again, if you are not a player experiencing the above issues, please give impacted players the space to provide the info we need.

Thanks!

Hi Jackie.

No, it does not crash and it's not unresponsive according to the task manager. The cog turns for a few seconds, then it stops and the loading screen just sits there forever. I've just tried the ctrl+U trick but it does not appear to be making any difference whatsoever.

Can you confirm exactly what screen you're referring to when you say "loading screen". Is it that you can't get past the 7.4 key art screen or after you select a character to get into the game? You can also provide an image either here or sending me a PM.

@HanniShindeiru if you could also answer the above, that would be helpful as well.

Hi everyone,

Follow up from the team regarding the freezing screen issue. We're still investigating and would love to know the following:
If the game is NOT currently running, please go to the following locations:

  • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStatic
  • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStream

Please answer the following:

  • Do you see these files?
  • Are they read-only?
  • When you delete the files (it's safe to do so!), what happens when you run the game? Does deleting these files change what happens when you run the game?

Good morning, everyone,

The team is needing more information from players who are impacted by the freezing screen issue and have requested the following:

  • A Dxdiag report
    • Steps can be found here
  • The client _settings.ini file
    • Can usually be found in here: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings

If you are a player who is impacted by this issue, please send the above to [email protected].

Thanks!

@TrixxieTriss The team needs some additional info regarding the memory leak issue you're experiencing. We are still investigating and trying to repro the issue. Regarding the character you are using that runs into this issue, can you PM (if if you're fine posting here, feel free) the character loadout and the outfits pieces your character is currently wearing?

Good morning, everyone,

Following up on the freezing screen issue. First, thank you to everyone who submitted the DxDiag and client_settings_ini files.

Second, below are potential workarounds for this issue.

  • Delete the DiskcacheStatic and DiskCacheStream files if they are found in the following paths:
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStatic
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStream
  • With the game closed/not running, RENAME the client settings ini file to client_settings_broken.ini. This can be found here:
    •  C:\Users\\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings

To reiterate, these are potential workarounds as they have worked for some players, but not all. We are still investigating and trying to repro this issue. The team is asking for the following information relevant to the SECOND bullet point. Please read through the following breakdown fully.

If you are currently experiencing the frozen loading screen issue and you RENAME (not delete) the client settings ini file, run the game and if it works, we are requesting that you submit the following to [email protected]

  • The original Client_settings.ini file
  • Client_settings_broken.ini file (this is the one you renamed)
  • And a DXDiag report (please only send in a recently run file)

The team needs would like to see a before and after comparison of the ini files hence the instruction to rename the file first.

When you submit the files, please be sure to include your SWTOR account name.

Thanks all!

Jackie , just making sure here since a few guildmates were asking me:  That ^ NEW email address  is  only for  frozen loading screen related issues , whereas the prior  [email protected]   email address still exists for all OTHER  game related issues too , correct?

Or has the newer  [email protected]  replaced the other  prior email address now?

p.s.  i hope you received my forum PM i sent the other day?  -- :ph_thank_you:

The former is correct. I am asking players to use the community support email for this specific issue. But [email protected] should continue to be used for all other game related issues.

@JackieKo idid the step you say to rename the client_settings.ini to client_settings_broken.ini and it still freezed yet.

And just confirming, did you also see files in

  • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStatic
  • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\DiskCacheStream

and delete them? Or were there no files in those locations to begin with?
