[2023] Gearing Feedback PTS Thread

For those who may have missed the stream, here’s a breakdown of the changes coming to gearing. 

The power ceiling is being raised. Here are the new maximum Item Ratings for gear coming with 7.4.

• Noble Decurion - 340
• Supreme Decurion - 340
• Tionese - 340
• Columi - 340
• Rakata - 344
• Thyrsian - 336

Players who have acquired the Virulent armor from The R-4 Anomaly will be able to exchange their armor for Rakata armor at the R-4 Veteran Exchange vendor in the supplies section of the fleet using R-4 Veteran Gear Tokens, OP-1 Catalysts, and credits.

Implants will no longer drop from bosses or be given from upgrade crates above Item Rating 336. This will make it easier for players to focus on Legendary Implants. Any previously obtained Implants can still be upgraded on the Fleet.

Our dynamic smuggling duo, Hyde and Zeek, has upped their ante and gotten their hands on modifications at Item Rating 340. Speak to Hyde on the Fleet to begin a new mission to acquire and deconstruct gear at Item Rating 340 to unlock these new mods.

With 7.4 we’re going to begin expanding access to Artifact gear as well. OP-1 Catalysts are coming to your Master Mode Chapters. Players who take on these treacherous challenges will be rewarded with 8 OP-1 Catalysts per completion.

Those who watched the stream or the VOD saw a note that players can earn Rakata gear regardless of content that is played. There will be more on this point at a later time! So please keep an eye on the dev tracker for more details.

If we run them as a group, will everyone in the group get 8 OP-1 Catalysts each? Or is only the lead player eligible for the reward? 

For 7.4, only the player running the chapter will get the OP-1 Catalysts. We are, however, looking into options to make them available to the entire group in a future update.

Hey Community!

During the 7.4 livestream we said we would be increasing access to Rakata gear but I only mentioned OP-1 Catalysts from Master Mode chapters. I’m back to talk about the second change we’ll be implementing for this initiative.

With 7.4, players will be able to obtain OP-1 Catalysts by exchanging Conquest Commendations and FP-1 Stabilizers. You will be able to make these currency conversions in the Supplies section of the Fleet, at the Conquest Gear Vendor and Flashpoint Gear Vendor.

Here are the conversion rates:

• 400 Conquest Commendations -> 100 FP-1 Stabilizers
• 2000 Conquest Commendations -> 175 OP-1 Catalysts
• 500 FP-1 Stabilizers -> 175 OP-1 Catalysts

I also wanted to thank everyone for the feedback and discussion around the OP-1 Catalysts from Master Chapters. Based on the feedback we will be adjusting the OP-1 Catalyst reward from Master Chapters slightly, to 10 OP-1 Catalysts per chapter (up from 8). As mentioned, we will also be looking into options to make the reward available to the entire group in a later update.

We’ll continue to monitor feedback surrounding gear, so please keep the discussion going. I’m off though, I need to pick up some oil for the Gravestone. It’s going to get a lot of use soon!
