So I sent an official support ticket to Crema about this question and was told to "refer to the official webpage about cross progression"....Not exactly the help i was hoping for. Maybe i'll have better luck here.

My wife and I both have our own PS5s and play the game together. Originally i was the only one who bought the game and she was able to play with me through the "Family Sharing" feature. After CU1 came out i realized that her account was probably considered a sub account of mine (which explained some weirdness we had encountered with trading etc). After we noticed this she went and bought the full game and it solved many of our problems. Now we want to purchase TemTem on Steam so we can play on our Steamdecks on the go. This is where my question comes in. Is there any possibility that me turning on cross progression could overwrite the account my wife is using because it was once considered a sub account?

From the moment your wife bought the game, she's her own Temtem account and game, and you linking your PS5 account to your Steam account won't affect that at all.The same applies to her linking her PS5 account to her Steam account, yours won't be affected. You're all good and playing Temtem with your SO is really cute :))
