I just started playing Terraria a few days ago for the first time, I've avoided it for a long time for no good reason.

To my horror I had been losing items and accidentally deleting them. I assume I accidently hit control all the time on other games, it just doesn't do anything detrimental.

I've searched countless threads to find a solution, but "favorite every item" or "just get gud" aren't solutions. It's mind-blowing that this game is 11 years old and chooses to put the f*cking delete key next to the quick move key, and gives you no access to change this.

I am just here to vent because clearly the devs could give a sh*t about people accidentally throwing items away. Not having an option to change or disable this makes me not want to continue playing at all. I guess that doesn't matter to them because they got my money.

Sorry about your lost items. I’ve never noticed this was a problem before, but we’ll look into a solution for the next update.

It would be a godsend for those of us with motor and/or cognitive function difficulties, myself included these days. Accessibility is something I greatly value, as not all players have the same functional capacities. Game control customization is a foundation for this sort of thing.

Ps, thanks for all the updates over the last decade <3 Ya'll coulda gone another direction and charged for new content but you're doin it for free. You guys are great.

We added an option to disable it altogether
