Just installed Journey's End. I have a 2560x1440 monitor and previously Terraria would scale to that higher resolution when maximizing the window or going fullscreen but the options for higher resolutions than 1920x1080 are just gone now. Maximizing the window makes this odd black space on the screen with the game in the bottom left. Is this intentional? I don't believe that the devs would just up and remove a feature like that.

Do you have 4k support enabled in your config? :)

Okay, I checked into the config.json file and the "Support4K" line is set to "true." I have also tried reinstalling the game, this did not change any result.

Are you on mac or linux by chance?

This being a mac/Linux specific issue was going to be my next prediction. I am on Ubuntu.

Ah yeah- we are aware of the problem and will be attempting a fix. Unfortunately we did not have a mac/linux programmer for launch so they are not optimized.
