Suggestion: Make the Warlords EXPANSION shareable on all consoles Xbox and PS4 Ubisoft!
Put aside for a bit that Xbox users get to share this new content across all their accounts and that PS4 users do not.
Ubisoft claims that Warlords is "bonus content", and then on twitter defends this by saying it's just a word that they use and "may also refer to it is 'Downloadable' or 'Extra' content. Anything that is not the base game itself is considered bonus content." (https://twitter.com/UbisoftSupport/status/1235337275229208577)
Bonus content in agaming context can closest be defined as "an extra and unexpected advantage". A natural fit for this description is pre-order goodies, in game extras (XP boosts, cosmetics, gear). So if Warlords expansion is "bonus" what did we pay for? Well who the hell knows at this point. The right to play the game? How about a monthly fee Ubisoft? Guess that's covered by your paid "seasons"...
Getting back to the first point; they allow it for Xbox and not for Playstation? Strike 1.
It goes against their previous policies within the same game series (TCTD1 shared all expansions)! Strike 2.
It goes against all consumer expectations, previous experiences (from years of gaming) and Sonys add-on policies. Strike 3.
It's consumer hostile and makes for bad press. UBISoft Support is sticking to their guns and sticking their heads in the ground.
I'm not arguing for free stuff. But for families that share a console this effectively doubles or triples the investment into this expansion of the game. And for users that have accounts in different regions (i.e. buy from US, play on EU) they can't even buy the expansion because it is region locked (EU account would need to buy EU game and expansion) in addition to not being shareable (which would allow EU account to enjoy US purchased DLC).
I would assume they'd revert this decision, but I'm not expecting them to do so. UBISOFT; say goodbye to my money. I'll not be looking at any of your future endeavors and you have basically killed all enjoyment for this series that we had, we're left with a bad taste in our mouth and no desire to play this or any UBISoft game again.
