just for information, i cannot play division 2 and i am in uk have a great fast reliable internet connection. yet when i begin the game today i had multiple failures.
first time the game didnt freeze but after the circle reached 100% (this was post character choice) it just... stayed there. much longer than usual. i alt tabbed to go look at server status after maybe a couple of minutes, and then had to tab back because it finally loaded me into the base of operations.
i tried to leave said base and none of the gates would open like they are supposed to. after a few seconds stood behind the gate i was delta 3 dumped to menu to start or logout, with a text to speech voice telling me the options for no good reason. thats really irritating. i have no access issues and that setting is and always was off.
next try i got same thing, couldnt leave BoO and then delta 3.
3rd try i didnt even bother waiting for the delta 3 i just tried to quit game. nothing happened, and i had to close the game manually from desktop.
i put this down to the fact season 9 began, tu15 dropped, and people want to play the expertise system and/or season, and then someone rather naively chose to make it a free to play weekend.
the servers cant handle the load, and they were always going to be under stress with the title update and expertise system to try out, so why did nobody think about that before deciding on a free to play weekend, and make more server capacity, even temporarily, to cope with an influx of first time/trial freeplayers? that it would be needed must surely have been obvious?
