I load into any mission, at any difficulty, set matchmaking on. Nobody joins. Throughout the entire mission.
Go into the matchmaking menu and select 'join any group, doing anything.' and it just sits there on that screen for 10+ minutes.
But if I go into a mission and request backup, I'll have someone join my group within a couple of minutes.
What's up with this? Do we have no choice but to request backup if we want to play something in a group? I'd prefer to team up with people who want to do the content i['m doing, instead of just people farming sheparding levels or something, but that doesn't seem possible.
The one time I did get into a party with someone else through matchmaking with this recent expedition, where I pressed to find a party and it dropped me in with one guy. He left matchmaking on for the entire expedition (easily a full hour after I joined) but nobody else ever showed up.
