[2019] Gun balance is ridiculous. What's the point in using rifles?

Your weapon's efficiency and deadliness are closely tied with your plastyle. Sure you can use Rifles from super long range or super close range, but they have a golden zone for distance. Plus particular tactics that they work the best with. Weapon balance can go a lot further than just the raw DPS or damage output of a weapon/class of weapon.

Which begs the question for everyone, whaat's a situation where your choice of weapons perfectly fit for the encounter at hand?
