Heya,

Ok so I have this survivalist build that I tried shield on again, I remember me loving it in the early levels, and i think its really good in pve. However i dont see anyone using it. So now i use the crusader ballistic shield alot.

I've seen alot of people complain it goes down to fast. Compared to division 1 yeah it does. Its not supposed to let you go in and tank everything. At least not in its curent state.

Mine is on a 10 second cooldown with mods.
While i see everyone behind me stay in cover etc in challenge or higher missions for me its alot easier to press the attack or flank the enemy flank. or back off ofcourse. Polp up the shield and move to the next cover while under heavy fire. It also makes it much safer for me to shoot the drones that one shot you if you stick your head out of cover to long, my shield takes the blow of their one hit kills. The hammer boss the same, he downs you in one hit if your evade timing isnt right but with the shield i can just take the blow. It also lets me catch bomb damage which get thrown around plenty.
If the shield is down who cares, its back up to full strength 10 seconds later again.

It gives me much more freedom to move around while being under heavy fire.I think its a very nice utility to have. Hell it even lets me have the shield up while im rezzing. At least for my survivalist its a very handy utility to go to the front and rezz people where others do not dare to go.Hive rezz is a pain to use.
We all know those missions where the cover seems to be build for max 2 people, in a group of 4 !!! So annoying !! Unless you want to be the one shooting way in the back without a clear sight.
Yesterday we were doing heroic roosevelt island and well you stand there shooting at the incomming enemy with no cover since the cover is taken by 2 teammates already but hey i just pop my shield as my own personal mobile cover and shoot at them !

Anyway i love it. It gives me so much more tactical advantages and safety. Its to bad it takes 1 skill slot. Often enough when others die left and right in higher difficulties i have to switch to minder plus + hive for keeping m up.

Anyway try it out sometimes if you have a couple of good cooldown mods for it.

regsmw, I would really love to see a picture of this build to see more of how it all comes together! It sounds pretty impressive.

You talked about some specific situations where the shield can be helpful as opposed to no shield, but could you detail your general playstyle a bit more? What're the plays and tactics you find yourself using in firefights?
