Before the game was even released, I pre-purchased the $110 version to get the cool statue and obviously to play the game. Where I lived I had hardwired internet and was able to enjoy the game for about 30 hours. Fast forward a couple years and where I moved has terrible internet, so I've had to result in using AT&T Tethering service. This service has worked great for 99% of the things I've tried. Steam, Epic Games, Minecraft, Blizzard services, League of Legends and every site I've went to, including this one.

However, I cannot download anything from Ubisoft. I've contacted them to report this issue and I'm met with the same copy-pasted message everyone else who has connection or download issues has received. I saw one message about contacting AT&T about this issue, so I did and was told it wasn't anything on their end. I even refunded the game from Ubisoft and downloaded it from epic games, in hopes of being able to play a game that I very much enjoy. After downloading the game I'm taken to the Ubisoft launcher where I then have to download an update which I cannot do. I've tried all of the things Ubisoft has suggested about this issue and nothing has worked. I saw reports of this same issue after reading the forums more from back in 2019 and yet it's still somehow not fixed.

TLDR; If you use AT&T Tether service, don't buy anything from Ubisoft as you will not be able to play the game and be forced to go through hoops to even refund the game.

Hello endoxide, welcome to The Division forums.

I am sorry to hear you had this experience using our Ubisoft Connect launcher and a mobile tether AT&T connection. Whilst the game can be played on a mobile connection, with the game being always online, we suggest using broadband or better yet, an ethernet connection, whichever platform you play on.

I understand you were able to play other games using this type of connection but not The Division 2. I looked at your case and can see you were advised some troubleshooting to perform but opted for a refund instead, so I apologize were unable to help you connect, but I am happy to see we were able to refund you.

Thank you for sharing your experience of this, it may help to inform other players of what connection may be best for them when playing some of our always-online games.
