Hey guys, so quick introduction here, My name is Fablephantom, I speed run anything I can anytime I get a chance. My clan is now focused on speed running missions as well. But there is one glaring issue. The way the system works right now prevents those of us who are capable of running things quickly from being seen in our rightful spots on the leaderboard. As it stands now any run completed is recorded without notice or verifying. So that means that if a hacker or someone who uses exploits of any type does a mission and completes it in some absurd time that is not able to be replicated without use of such exploit or hack, are put at the top of the board and those of us who do not use any thing of that nature and run good clean runs as intended are left behind. This is the case right now on every normal mission board and some of the invaded mission boards. Due to that my duo partner and I are only able to achieve a few of the high ranked spots we deserve at this point. We hold 4 Number 1 spots and only 2 other runs are below top 20. Normally I would just say we have some work to do on the missions that we are not in the top 5 on. But on some of these boards there are up to 5 minutes between us and the top time on the board. Which I know this will sound like I am just being c*cky but there is no way possible for that time to be legit. With how clean our runs are and how hard we hit, and the evidence from our runs on the weekly missions being top ranked. I can say for sure that the times put up by these people were either done by using hacks or an exploit of some kind. Here is one example of a group who clearly cheated in some way to achieve the top spot on the board https://i.imgur.com/YTX3xj1.png
this is the american history museum group leaderboard.
So with that slight rant out of the way, I would like to suggest a system be put in place to help avoid these kinds of absurd times from hitting the leaderboards. The system I would personally like to see be put in place would be something along the lines of if a run is completed and the time is a certain percent faster than the previous rank 1 time, then the run should be flagged the peoples accounts inspected and only after being cleared by a staff member should it be allowed to hit the board. I know it sounds like a lot of work for something so "trivial" as the leaderboards being cleaner and more "fair" but at this point I dont see another way of this leaderboard system being fair in any way to those of us take the time to push ourselves to run cleaner and faster to be higher up on that board.
If anyone has any other ideas on how this system could be improved, please let them be heard. This leaderboard system is one thing that if done correctly could create a pretty decent speed running community here and help to keep the game alive in between content updates in my opinion.
