[2022] Character vanished after crash? Can it be recovered?

Hello, I've been playing since a few days ago and yesterday, while I was playing, the game crashed while farming some stuff. There have been some crashes and freezes before so I thought nothing of it at the time, but when I started the game again a few minutes ago I noticed that my character was gone. It only lets me create another one, but it starts again back at the beginning where you choose which campaign you want to start with.

Is it possible to recover my character? I have around 30 hours of play there and while the gear and weapons I have are by no means good rolls, I had already started the leveling progression and was getting used to what I had; I even got my very first exotic yesterday, Bullet King, thanks to the help of a kind player called no187mercy who helped me clear a mission and find some hidden chests for loot.
