[2019] Urm...I'm tier one and I don't know what do do?

So I keep doing the control points but they get taken over....then I've tried to replay missions but I keep dying from what seems like gas...
Urm as there's no instructions what am I supposed to do?
My gear score is 236 and I'm tier 1...
