Played the game on another laptop back when it came out and now I'm returning to *finally* have a look at WLONY on another, more powerful gaming laptop.

Turns out, from the moment I installed the game, it crashed immediately after startup. I didn't even get to the title screen. There's no error code, though I do get a popup from UbiConnect asking me to send a crash report, which I do.

Already tried a bunch of random fixes, such as running the game in admin mode, compatibility mode, launching directly from the root folder instead of UC or the desktop shortcut... All of this seems to work at random. For the past two days or so, every time this crash would happen, I'd try *something* and the game would work again all day long. I'm getting tired of having to do random [censored] every single day to so much as get to the title screen when nothing seems to work permanently, though.

The problem can't be my specs, as the game runs perfectly fine once I manage to launch it. No performance issues, no crashes, nothing. Still, for reference, here it is:

12th Gen i7-12700H 2.3 GHz
16 GB of RAM
RTX 3060
1TB SSD
Win11

Hey there @unnecesaurus

I hate to see that you're crashing, and you're right that your system specs are more than enough to run the game.

For now, there's a few small things I can suggest for you to try.

  1. Clear the Ubisoft Connect cache.
  2. Reinstall Ubisoft Connect entirely.
  3. Verify your game files, to ensure any update files that have come through have installed correctly.
  4. Disable the Ubisoft Connect overlay.

If you still run into random start up crashes after that, please open a one-on-one support ticket and send your basic system files our way so we can take a deeper look at what might be causing them.
