does it seem that the only build for pve is max weapon dmg and hard hitting?

almost no use for any active talents is viable

i dont see any skill builds being used like
shield build
seekermine build
firefly - they buff it liitle but still no use
support role compare to dmg role is inferior


shotgun build for close range not being used


sniper is nice but hardly needed compare to the dps of the AR
rifle is still too slow
merciless got nerfed versus bosses (for me the only unique exotic with great mechanism of explosion)
LMG still useable

but again all the pve build use hard hitting and max weapon dmg - so no variation

what do you think?

If I may ask, inferior by what metric? As RichardOshea mentioned, if all you're looking for is damage, then the highest damage setup is obviously going to be superior. What is the metric that a build's usefulness is measured by - to you?
