I am personally disappointed by the boss fights and lack of realistic tactics the "elite" organization black tusk use. I was honestly expecting something 100% different. Like the first part of the raid should have been us storming the beach under incredibly heavy gun fire needing cover to cover movement followed by healing and then more rushing. This would have been reminiscent of a D-day type invasion, needing to take out bunker fortifications, mortar pits, etc. Basically a long trial by fire, knockout dragout, old fashioned gun fight.

I also imagined an area in which one group would need to split off, then have one group running on the roof and the others inside. Which could have added a nice need to kill the snipers or bazookas before they hit the other team, like moments.

I also hoped that the game was giving us a hint with the large flying drones in the LZ. The final boss could have been like a SHIELD helicarrier. This is an airport after all and yet it feels almost pointless. You would figure the whole reason for it being there would be to include some form of anti air mechanics and not just shooting a few lame mini drones. I was honestly expecting a Super Bliss like attack chopper battle, or an AC-130 bombing the piss out of you.

This raid just feels like a wasted opportunity, it adds some gimmicky once you learn it that's it mechanics. Yet, it feels completely removed from the fun build diversity needed type event that it could be. Yes, it is a difficult event, but only because of the extreme sponginess and artificial difficulty caused by making the event only 8 man scaled. Needing 8 players for a specific reason or to give a more immersive battlefield presence would be awesome. As of now it really just feels fake and kinda boring. At least the first Destiny raid was really interesting and truly deserving of the word "bespoke", this large incursion just feels pointless and honestly bland. You just run from single event to single event with nothing stopping you along the way, not the most engaging way to handle it in my opinion.

There is nothing in the raid to make 8 players feel needed, it is almost like artificial gating. For no other purpose than to justify 2 million health enemies and red snipers hitting for more than 230k per shot. Then you need to consider this is only the normal version of the raid.... what are they going to do in the future, add 20-30% AI health and damage then call it a day?

I appreciate the wide breadth of feedback here, everyone. There are a lot of thoughts and observations floating around now that the Raid has dropped, and it's insightful to see how you all feel about it.

MutantCowboy brings up some particularly important points that I've been curious about. For those who have attempted (or completed) the Raid, when do you feel it tested your ability to communicate the most? When did it test your gameplay the most?
