[2020] Gunner field reserach - kill Ridgeway without using armor kits

Hi, I just tried to complete this field research but I failed.
I have not used armor kits and during the whole mission and used a healing drone insetad.

Is this not permitted? Are there restrictions on all healing sources, including skills?
