First off, I have done every fix for this crashing nonsense. I did indeed cutdown on crashes, freezes, and other bs random pc locks or w/e happens when I need to fully restart my pc. I use DX12 and have so much more success staying in game rather than DX11. I read an article that DX12 handles the game better than DX11, never looked back as it seems to be true (but each pc is different, gpu...etc). I have an AMD 5900x liquid cooled, 3080, 32GB 3600mhz ram, run at 1440p 240hz, Steelseries periphs. So it is quite adequate to run any game I throw at it.

Crashes before : Running thru a mission, turn a corner..FREEZE, restart pc. Get some big explosions, or something that has a very loud sound profile...FREEZE, restart pc. Running thru a mission, see the enemies standing still, not firing, reacting, I know it's coming...FREEZE or the famous DELTA feature that Ubi/Massive love so much Delta errors seem to be connection issues related to the servers, because it usually starts with an instance of desync and server lag. This could be every 5 minutes or every 25-30 minutes if you get lucky.

Fixes I did : Always have your drivers updated for starters. Disable any overlays you have in the background, Ubi connect, Discord, all of them. Set the cpu affinity for Easy Anti Cheat to 1 core using Process Lasso (free), set it to 1 core permanently. Also set my cpu priority to high for div2.exe, instead of normal priority. Checked to disable full screen optimizations (google it). Changed the high DPI settings and set it to applications (google it). Went thru Nvidia control panel and set most settings to performance, with vsync off, no low latency mode, plus more, experiment for yourself. Verify files every once in a while. I use run as administrator for the div2.exe. My game setting are not low, but most of the useless graphic options are set to low, such as shadows and things like that. I don't use full screen anymore, I have went to windowed full screen. Reason for that that is because of the type of problem I have now, I can still access task manager in windowed full screen, but cannot in full screen. So getting back in the game is faster when I do get locked up.

Crashes now : Really the only problem I get is when I am in my inventory, crafting bench, or recal station. My mouse pointer goes to 5fps and I cannot press anything anymore, so the ctrl - alt - del still works to get to task manager as I mentioned before why I run in windowed full screen. Occasionally I do get a hard lock on my pc, but it is very rare.

UBI PLEASE - Do you play your own game? Maybe on console because you know it can be unplayable on pc for some people. No way you play on pc and enjoy it. Fix when? Care when? I am 49 years old and have played video games since the beginning. In those years, I have never had ANY game crash, error so much as this one and I have tried to think of one but I cannot. Your priorities must be somewhere else and it shows. This community deserves better than this.

P.S. Who is the genius who brought up the shield break mechanic? Has to be fired immediately.

Hello there @RamBRO!

I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced trouble with crashes whilst playing The Division 2. Thank you for taking the time to share your report with us, and for letting us know all the troubleshooting steps you've tried to resolve this issue. I'm glad to hear that the crashes have improved somewhat, but I understand that these are still impacting on your gaming experience.

As you haven't specified this in your post above, would you be able to let us know when these crashes first started for you? Did they start following a specific game update, or have you always had trouble with crashes in-game?

Our dedicated teams have been notified of players experiencing an increase in crashes following the release of TU14 in December 2021. The team are actively investigating this issue further, and any future updates will be posted within patch notes published in the News & Announcements forum.

Looking at the steps you've already tried, have you also been able to try disabling your background applications? This can be more than just overlays, which I can see you've already tried. I've seen reports of players who were able to identify and disabling conflicting software after running a clean boot, and this also helped to alleviate crashes experienced in their own game. It could be worth giving this a try.

Thanks! 😊
