I'm hoping to find some advice or insight on addressing the severe frame drop that occurs on particle effect emissions. I have several PCs that run Division 2 flawlessly, several that experience this particle effect lag, those tend to have high end equipment.
Most are X570s, and my Ryzen 3600X/ 3060 Ti/ 3070 builds run it fine. But, the Ryzen 5000 3080 Fe experiences the lag. I thought perhaps it was a power delivery issue, and swapped my Corsair HX1200 with a new Silverstone HELA 1200 Platinum ATX 3.0 psu, and used the 600 watt rated 12-pin, and it still has the same issues.
The "test" I mainly use is DCD Headquarters, and test the following: 1: set myself on fire from burning pile outside building, 2: red tubs of chemicals on lower lab, and 3: the small red "coffee cans" and large Nitrogen tanks on the upper lab.
Run on Windows 10, all drivers & BIOS updated, and tried different RAM kits from G.Skill 3600 2x16 to Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 3600 4X32. Gen 4 PNY XLR8 4Tb is in the problematic build, while the smooth Zen 2 builds all pack a 1Tb Gen 3 NVMe. All BIOS is set to default, except XMP is on, and Resizable Bar is enabled.
The odd occurrence is, with the Corsair HX, using the 2x 8-pin to 12 pin, the red tubs in the lower lab might stutter a second or 2, then consecutive emissions would have no further lag. But, Nitrogen tank emissions would have a long, 8-second lag. Now, with the Silverstone 12 pin to 12 pin, the Nitrogen tanks barely give a hiccup, but those red tubs cause a 4- 6 second lag every occurrence!! It's just bizarre behavior.
I'm trying to understand the nature of the particle efrect system so the game runs properly. Other than the particle effects, the game runs buttery smooth, pegged at 118 (set there) and looks gorgeous. Resizable Bar doesn't seem to matter. But, interestingly, when I set my Nvidia Shader Cache size from Unlimited to 100 Gb, it seemed to perform better, lags weren't quite so long, making me suspect its a latency issue? Or do I need the 400 extra clocks of a 5800X, vs the X3D?

Hey there @Badass_Benny911

As this is not something the support team can provide you any assistance on, I am going to move this thread over to the Gameplay Discussions so more players can get their eyes on it. You'll be a bit more likely to get some good info gathered that way 😊
