I wanted to buy some in-game money but my on-line store says I have to pay in dollars. I only have pound notes, I have searched the house but cannot find any dollars. Is there anything UBisoft wants to trade for in-game money??

Sorry to hear your in-game store is asking for dollars when you are using British pounds.
Can you please try empty the cache of Uplay PC? Please see our support article.
Also please disable any network altering software like VPNs.
