I've thought about this a lot recently. I've recently gotten back into Warframe, and some people in that community (not all) want it to become less of a power fantasy with less power creep and more of an mmo.

Inversely, I see TD2 community wants more attention given to roles, while still allowing diversity without the feeling of being restricted.

So, I asked myself, "What mold would work best in the long run?" Personally, with the state of the game today and the anticipated changes coming in TU5, I'm not really sure how to answer that question. I mean, sure, more freedom is always good, but too much can create the feeling of no direction or "not knowing what it is". Every game at least needs a basic template.

Thoughts?

I'll admit, it's interesting to see the intersection of Tom Clancy realism fans, MMORPG Power Trinity fans, tactical shooter, and looter shooter fans, (as well as countless other sub-categories in between and beyond) all participate in this game with varying ideas for how the game should move forward.

I think this is an important question to keep in mind, for sure. But I don't think that TU5 alone will go so far as to push The Division 2 too far into the realm of "choice paralysis." Perhaps it might be beneficial to ask not only "What mold would work best" for the game, but also what kind of experience are you looking for from playing?
