[2019] Epic Launcher required?

Is epic launcher required to run the game? Can i just purchase the game and forget the launcher and only launch D2 from Uplay launcher?

I bought a few games from Origin sometime back, and Origin is not required to run those games.

You will need to use Epic's launcher to download, install, and update your version of TD2 if you purchase from them.

You can also just purchase the game on Uplay. Both versions of the game still require the use of Uplay.
