I went back to go play the game and end every time I try to start it for the past few days keep getting told the service is currently unavailable. I'm hoping no cause it's my favorite of the anno series so far.

We recently made a security change to how our legacy games work, which means that players need to reauthenticate when launching these games. However, some users are facing this unexpected 'service unavailable' error. We're currently investigating the issue.
In the meantime, our investigation has shown that adding the device you are using as a trusted device, then logging out and in from Ubisoft Connect, then once again trying to launch the game, should solve this. Here's our support article showing how to add a trusted device.
