I, and i believe the majority of players, play this game because of its pve element, where obviously the focus lies, and we dont play/dont want to play any pvp. Understandable and not quite a problem in a game where pve and pvp dont clash together. But when an area opens that let both groups in, disaster is pre-programmed. The pve players get frustrated by obvious player hunters and either dont enter in the area anymore, or they search for people to protect them. This is sad, especially when the area has collectibles, secrets or whatever that could be interesting for the pve players. The pvp players, i am not sure about what exactly they seek in this area. The pvp is completely unbalanced, since pve players dont use pvp builds, and they easily get frustrated themself, when they get killed in a fight they started. I have seen and experienced it in my last clan. Why not use the actual pvp mode, if you guys want pvp? I guess that is already too hard and farming pve players is more rewarding. Understandable, i still recall players in old timey WoW camping low level areas with high level damage dealers, to farm the newly created characters.
Still, its a problem and i believe i have somewhat of a good solution for it.
Specifiy all three Dark Zones. One is invaded, one is normalized and one is strictly pve, no possibility to go rogue here. Randomize them every week and everyone should be happy, because there is a Dark Zone for basically everyone. With this solution, you can even make the loot/reward better in the Dark Zone, if you increase the enemy threat. Make them as tough as enemys in a challenging mission with three guys or whatever. The enemy need to be stronger than in the open world, i mean, its still the Dark Zone and it should be dangerous there. What we currently have are cardboard characters who die when you sneeze at them. The only threat in DZ are players who stand behind you, during your shootout with the ai, go rogue and burst you down from behind. Thats neither fair nor fun nor an actual challenge.
Luckily, most players are teamplayers in this game and the majority of random people i met in DZ are there for pve and play like we are in a team. But thats just my experience and i only were a few times in a DZ alone, usually i used clan members to protect me, so i could farm my way to DZ lvl 50 and never enter it again. I bet, if there was a pure pve DZ, it would be the most popular DZ, so i really dont see a reason why this shouldnt be implemented, except for those pvp players who want to hunt weak pve players, they are the only ones "negatively" affected by it.
With this you could also invent a few more DZ skills, specialised on pve fights. Heck, you could even let Hunters randomly spawn in the pve DZ.
I dont know, i just think its a good idea and many of us would benefit from it.
