@TimesLostArc How do we define what is spirited and then transforms in Flaming? Calling people names, attacking their thoughts, ideas, perceived idea of how the game should work with personal insults? I've seen conversations get heated but it is because someone feels passionate about their beliefs. I have had nasty arguments with friends of 10 plus years and we still hangout on the weekends, etc. So it depends on who defines what is flaming, hate speech and so on. If I make up the rules and I come from a particular point of view or opinion, then technically anyone who disagrees would be flaming my thoughts.
I think short of racist name calling, threats to ones life or loved ones, debate and more importantly heated debate is healthy. Sadly, in our current world, we feel like the slightest disagreement is worth doxxing people over. I can only imagine what a debate class in school looks like these days. Spirit is a firm belief in ones views. Sometimes that can get down and dirty due to passion. I would hope people would stand firm but have the maturity to listen to others beliefs with the same respect.
To be clear, we moderators define what constitutes flaming on this forum. We're pretty specific about what we consider to be flaming in the forum rules, so I'd recommend making sure to follow them to avoid infractions and bans.
For everyone, please be sure to continue to flag any post which breaks out forum rules. Please make sure you aren't flagging a post simply because you disagree with it, but rather because it actually breaks a rule (I recognise this can be a judgement call sometimes, so when in doubt, flag it anyway so we can have a look). While we do what we can to keep up with conversation here in the forum, the flags really help us out to keep things moderated.
