Yes, though I seem to have that leveled against me less than anyone else.

You have to really understand these NPC are programmed to do certain actions depending on how you and your team (if you are grouped) act towards them.
If you lean back and stay in cover they will continue to spam. Try flanking and moving forward cover to cover.
There will be a reasonable distance you can operate from and still be safe.

Pick off enemies to reduce their numbers and review your approach to threats as others have said. You may wish to eliminate threats that are closer to you or that are flanking you before you engage bosses that grenade spam. There are elite grenaders and regular red ones. With the regular red ones you can aim for their bag which is red. In fact anything red on any NPC you should shoot it first if you can.. those are the weak points and will usually disable them in a good way for you.

Play more tactical.. and try to be shooting from cover then moving to new positions. I find doing challenge whether in solo or group tends to be more moving and gunning. And always make sure your back and flanks are empty without threats.

Use suppression if need be, then move to flank the NPCs. Work to pick off the small fry and reduce the number of enemies you have while maintaining safe distance and keeping enemy flankers at bay (or killing them outright).

Good luck and don't give up~!
Welcome to the forums! I appreciate the level headed advice and tips. Sounds like you've swapped from Healing Chem to what new skill? I don't see much use of the Striker Drone in my usual play.

Additionally, as a reminder to everyone:
Calling people shills, paid Ubisoft employees, etc. is considered trolling - and unabashedly insulting others for how they choose to play the game is flaming. Keep the conversation respectful or it will be closed down.

Grenades and their reduced frequency have repeatedly been the subject of NPC changes. I don't believe they have ever been tweak to occur more often, only less.
One thing I've found particularly interesting in this thread is the discussion of how the grenade issue is the most prevalent on Heroic difficulty - which can be, well, difficult. While there are plenty of helpful tips and tricks in this thread, a rough encounter is still a rough encounter. What are the moments you are finding yourselves in that the grenade enemies feel (or are) insurmountable?
