Hi, this is my first post here so sorry if it's in the wrong place or anything

I've noticed recently that after playing for a while (around the hour mark) my mouse starts to skip around a *lot*, as in like 30 degree chunks at a time. I've seen other people talking about mouse lag and stuttering, but from what I can tell this is a different issue as in those cases it was constant, but only in (relatively) small ammounts.

I have a *feeling* that this is caused by my PC becoming very hot (I play in 1440p, ultra settings and pull around 100fps. "hot" is around about 80 degrees on the CPU, I can't measure the GPU accurately though) causing the mouse input to bug out, however this doesn't happen in any other game (Destiny 2, GTAV, even other ubisoft titles such as TD1 and R6S). Controller input is fine as well during these times. I have been able to fix this by rebooting the game, but generally I wait about an hour before restarting it and it seems fine (Again, if it is due to heat then my PC has cooled down by then).

Even weirder is that while playing this morning, I had hit the point where my mouse was skipping, but upong entering a particular area (in New York, I was doing a bounty boss and when I went into the little area away from the main map where the boss was, I think it's the boats area where you destroy the supplies for keener during the campaign, I'm pretty new to the game so I don't know the area names yet sorry) my mouse stopped skipping in there.

If it's important, I have the latest drivers on my mouse, GPU etc, my game is fully up to date.
As for hardware, my mouse is set to the highest DPI it can go (1500, I turn my in game sense down to like 1 or 2 though)
my specs:
ryzen 7 2600x (water cooled, but the rad gets hot enough that it's almost painful to touch despite having three fans... guess the AMD memes are still true lol)
RTX 2080, just air cooled and also gets very hot in TD2
32gb DDR4 ram

So, is there any known fixes for this? Has anyone else had this issue before? Is it related to overheating, or is this some other kind of bug? Any information can help!

Hey Rozwell_Kid!

I'm sorry that you are encountering this. Tell me, if you lower your settings (for testing purposes), and regulate the temperature of your CPU as a result, does this skipping still occur?

As mentioned above, this *may* be a temperature issue so the above suggestions may be helpful.
