Warning!!! This post contains some basic math and assumptions.
As it has been stated in the past, with the Raid update there has been a change in how pistols and rifles fire. Below I attempt to breakdown the effects the changes have had on rifles and show how rifles are now MUCH slower which can result in massive DPS loss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In this example lets take the MK17 with a default RPM of 275 which should be able to shoot (RPM/60) 4.58 bullets /sec or a bullet every .218 sec.
Previously if you tried to fire FASTER than the 1 bullet/.218 sec (trying to fire at 1 bullet/.175 sec in this assumption) the game would not fire the gun until the earliest possible time frame which would be at .218 sec (which is about a .043 s delay) which is not very noticeable and allows users to fire the gun at MAX RPM if they wanted without issues (Yes gun may be inaccurate at this Rate of Fire).
Currently if you tried to fire FASTER than the 1 bullet/.218 sec requirement the game will not register that click. Which would require a user to click again AFTER you are allowed to fire. So if user is clicking at once/.175 sec the next click would occur at .350 seconds which would result in a delay of (.132 s) which is VERY noticeable. Now if this happens with EVERY shot in the clip (21 rounds/clip) this results in the clip being emptied 2.772 seconds slower than what was previously possible.
Note the above scenario are just basic numbers to prove a point, the point being that clicking FASTER with the new method ends up being SLOWER. This makes RIFLES very unwieldy if your trying to max out DPS and makes them very non user friendly. To make the most out of Rifles in the current state of the game you have to have PRECISION timing to click at the (RPM/60) mark which is very gun dependent and be able to handle the stress of a firefight to not miss that timing or else you start clicking too early.
Please revert to the previous method of firing. Rifles and Pistols seem to be in a bad state at the moment.
