For the longest time I thought it was intentional, but after godrolling and fully optimizing all builds on both of my main characters (both female), I'm now playing with my 3rd character (male). I was surprised that gear dyes on male characters are actually working as intended.
I've made some screenshots just to show you what I mean.

As you can see, none of the "new" (full colors and multi-colors) gear dyes work on the negotiator's dilemma and aces gloves and backpacks worn by a female character. I'm pretty sure there are a few other pieces with the same problem.
