[2019] Purchasing the Ultimate Edition while you have the standard edition?

Hi,

Does anyone know what will happen if you buy the Ultimate Edition on the same client of your standard Edition? Reaching out to Ubisoft on Twitter and opening a ticket has yielded no clear answer. To be precise:
'it could upgrade the content of the character'
'I am not able to guarantee any success or that any content will not be loss'
makes me believe that even they don't know what will happen.

I'd appreciate any information on the matter.

One thing I'm certain of is that there's no way to directly upgrade from standard to Ultimate. The closest thing would be separately buying the Year 1 Pass, which isn't the same thing. But you're asking about two separate full versions of the game, correct? Is this on Uplay?
