Please take this as constructive criticism, and not flaming or whining Ubi...

The last patch was a step backwards, I think it's safe to say probably 90% of the player base agree. I can live with the bugs, the lack of end game content, as long as that is resolved in the near future. What I cant live with, is the lack of diversity in builds, arguably the single biggest unique selling point of the franchise. Right now, despite what a very small minority say, there is only 1 build, DPS. We have no tanks, due to player armour being meaningless. We have no healers due to cool downs, bugs, and the lacklustre performance of all heals except for chem launcher.which itself is a problem, as a DPS build with 0 SP can have a really strong heal, which feels off. We have no skill power DPS as they do about as much damage as a wet fart, and that's even if they register a hit (seekers and turret seem to miss an awful lot). There are no support builds, I.e. a pulse / smartcover type build, pulse is a joke offering nothing but enemy tagging in a modest range, no damage buffs, and there is no equivalent of smartcover, mobile cover, etc. Currently the game is just about the guns, the few skill builds are just a liability, yes they may on the odd occasion flush someone out of cover, but overall they offer far less solo, or as part of a group, than a DPS player. The issuea with the gear aets are well documented, so I wont go over them. This is what needs fixing as priority one. I can live with the crucified enemies after death, the enemies spawning out of thing air, etc. Dont get me wrong, I want them fixed, but right now I have 0 motivation to log in, and I'm a huge fan of D1, and was so excited for D2, but I hate to say it, but I've got no desire to log in atm.

Please bring back diversity, the current approach to skill builds is easily fixed, just massively buff all the skill mods. That way they will do huge damage, heals, etc, but we are required to sacrifice DPS in exchange due to needing SP on items, which is the way it should work. Improve the effectiveness of armour, if someone wants to be a tank in PvP or PvE, then if they're willing to sacrifice damage then that's fine. Right now everyone is just running the same builds, and it is fairly stale already.

At its core this is a great game, and many of the issues are fixable. Marco styles latest video some the current state up pretty well, just generally has a 'meh' feeling about it.

A really interesting read here, and a fascinating topic for sure. I can understand your concern about the lack of build diversity for sure. That said, one thing I think that's important to note is that the build archetypes might be varied but not in ways that many people are used to. Like the OP said, dedicated Healers and dedicated Tanks aren't super viable. But I personally would argue that they have a different form now, but similar function.

Tanks are meant to draw enemy aggression, soak up damage, and ultimately control the opposition as much as they can.
I would point towards LMG builds with tons of ammo capacity and the ability to keep multiple targets suppressed, or explosives to flush out enemies who are hiding. Those heavier setups can to some degree control the layout of the battlefield.

Healers or Supports are meant to keep teammates alive and free from debuffs to the best of their ability.
I would point in this case towards builds with multiple healing skills and weapons with the ability to stagger. They keep enemies who try to close the gap off teammates and ensure their allies' health is topped off whenever they can.

Even within DPS builds there are long range snipers, mid range combatants, and those who move around the battlefield, flank, and cause havoc with close range weaponry.

I appreciate the discussion and conversation, and rest assured we're reading and taking in your feedback. Though I also want to encourage you all to think of ways that the classic RPG archetypes might be broadened for the unique context and systems within The Division 2. Thank you for the feedback!
