Ok, put yourself in the devs shoes. The most dedicated players consume content faster than you can make it. You need time to balance the game because you just released WT5 and Tidal Basin and want to make sure all things are perfect before you add the 8 player raid and more gear sets. Some are already bored of dailies as we can see form the forum.

My idea is to add little weekly side missions that give you a clue to a narrative. Get to know a little more about Wyvern, Schaffer, and Mantis. Maybe introduce the agents from the comic whos clothes are in the Ubisoft club and statues are in the collectors edition of the game. Even meaningless little quests to save people from settlements. Rewards can be a backpack token or a faction key. As for myself just doing the dailies is spending a lot of time on the game. Takes me 2 or 3 hours to finish all 3.

There's a fine line between "a lot of work," and "a tedious grind." A line so fine that depending on who you ask it can go either way. How might this type of content impact players, including those who enjoy the game and the challenge but simply don't have as much time to play?

This is a bit of a tricky topic, as by its very nature a "meta" exists outside the game in a sense, as it made in part by meta-data, data about data. To grossly simplify the subject, the only way to have no meta whatsoever would be to have every weapon and every skill be literally the exact same, functionally meaning there is only 1 weapon and 1 skill. Even then, a particular style of play can create meta... Like I said, it's a tricky topic.

But balance and gear that upsets the meta is definitely worthy of further in-depth discussion!

I can always appreciate a game with those kind of large overarching challenges, even if only for personal bragging rights. How much do the meta-objectives of such commendations influence your moment-to-moment gameplay?
