Its not in game at the moment and its not mentioned in next update, so being generous here, its 2 years more from now, making that completely irrelevant.
People asking for end game today will be long gone by the time its actually implemented, probably playing released Valheim which actually has engaging and varried content as well as very clear and layed out plan of development.
I'll somewhat grant the 'clear and laid out plan of development', as the Valheim devs have a point-by-point road map rather than a list of things that will be included in the future. But both do in fact have plans- One of the two just prefers to keep things fluid and work on whichever part they think is best next, While the other laid out a specific order that they are now bound by. Neither path is necessarily worse than the other.
But, 'Engaging and varied content'? I'm having a blast with valheim- For sure. But, Engaging and varied content it has not, in my experience. It's a whooooole lot of grind. Much grind. Very grind. Such grind. To get started you have to grind deer and boars. To progress you need to grind copper and tin. To progress you need to grind iron. To progress further still you need to grind even more. There's bosses, that are cool to fight the first time around..maybe the second too. After that it's kindof ehh.
And the whole time, from start to eventual finish, You're grinding wood and stone. Constantly. want a workbench out in the field? Grind 20~+ wood to build a small shed. The world is so massive and the rested buff is so invaluable that you'll constantly grinding wood to build little rest huts that you can get the rest bonus in; Which requires campfires- which in turn must be fed with wood.
The greylings while neat in concept are largely just copies of one another that get progressively larger; the shaman is the only different one. Really, a lot of the enemies boil down to 'generic fantasy enemy/animal' and fill up the same basic space as 'generic zombie enemy/animal', conceptually.
There's a handful of biomes, but, after you pass through them the first time there's not much reason to go back to them. You don't really need to go back to the black forest much after exiting the bronze tier, for example.
I dunno, As I said- Having a blast with Valheim. But, honestly, once the honeymoon period is over, I'll be back to 7DTD; Because as much fun as Valheim has been, It's such a grind-fest that I don't think I could stomach a second playthrough and actually enjoy it. There's so little replayability to it, for me. Valheim is a story from start to finish, and the sandbox elements to it just aren't easy enough to access for me to have a good time; You dont get to play with stone structures for ages; You can't even build most real decorative objects until you reach at least the bronze age; And even if you wanted to just screw around building, to build anything larger than a 5x5 hut you're committing to hours of grinding for wood and stone.
On the other hand, I've been coming back to 7DTD on a yearly basis for the better part of a decade now. Every time I have a great time. Close to, or even over two thousand hours (1000~ in steams tracker, but I've played prior to the steam version as well). With a hundred and more added every alpha.
Really though- It's subjective to the individual. Maybe Valheim to you really is just that much better..For you. But it wont be that way for everyone; And it certainly isn't for me.
