Fair warning: This may get a bit long-winded. But with all the nonsense going on in the world, I wanted to put something out there that was at least a bit more positive.

Story time. My teenage son, Jack, is a big fan of Division 2. Because my father, brother, and I all served in the military, Jack grew up around it. He has always been a fan of many things military themed. He's played lots of military and tactical games, and Div2 is probably his favorite. I myself have played, but not nearly as much as Jack has. I play alot more Destiny and FFXIV.

Jack is recovering from COVID-19. He's been battling it for almost two months now, but the outlook is positive. Unfortunately, two weeks before he was diagnosed, we found out my father has cancer. Jack worships the ground his grandfather walks on, so you can imagine what that did to him. His mindset has been all kinds of fouled up, thinking the world is totally against us. I would chalk it up to disillusioned teenaged melodrama, but add up the score here. He sees that his grandfather now effectively has an indeterminate expiration date, he got sick with the thing that has brought the world to its knees, and we are black in the US. My background is in law enforcement, so that last part doesn't bother me, but from a teen's perspective, it must be scary.

While trying to brainstorm a way to lift the boy's spirit, I came across a crew in Div2. Kasimiro and his clan PHL Katipuneros. To lift Jack out of his funk, they ran him through Operation Iron Horse, helped him build Regulus, showered him with gear to build several loadouts, AND one of their crew dropped their Ravenous to him. Now for someone who turns to gaming to tune out the world's stresses, that's got to be like Halloween, Christmas, his birthday, and graduation day all rolled into one.

If you're reading this JW, from both me and Jack; Thank you.
