Hey @mikec_ri , welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear you are having trouble with artisans and freezing - that sounds most frustrating! I'll be happy to help.
Just to check, do you mean that when you upgrade workers to artisans, your game freezes? When you say you can still move around, do you mean the game's camera? And when you say everything freezes, do you mean the graphics (character models, buildings, effects) have stopped, or can you just not interact with them?
Please take a look at our troubleshooting guide. In particular from that guide, please make sure you've updated your graphics drivers and operating system, you've verified the game files, and you don't have any unnecessary background programs interfering with the game. These steps solve the majority of issues with our games, so they are worth getting out of the way to rule them out. Thanks
